The initial visit is firstly to find out if your problem is something that can be helped with chiropractic care.
You will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire, outlining your problem. To save time, this can be downloaded from our website and filled out in advance.
We will then discuss your problem or health concerns with you and take a detailed history. If it is a problem that will benefit from Chiropractic treatment we will proceed with a physical examination which involves postural assessments, orthopaedic and neurological assessments if necessary.
It may be beneficial to have x-rays of your spine and if the Chiropractor requires these you will be referred to a professional X-ray Clinic. This ensures a good quality X-ray is taken to our specifications and provides the added benefit of having a radiologist”s expert report.
All of this information allows us to develop a complete and thorough diagnosis and provide recommendations for your particular problem. Like having a plan to build a house, it gives us accurate information of your spinal health to primarily be safe and allow us to accurately determine what is the best plan for you to return to good health.
This assessment usually takes up to 30 minutes.
Your Chiropractor will then suggest the appropriate care plan and techniques best suited for you. You may decide to have symptom relief treatment only or continue on with maintenance/preventative treatment. These decisions can be made at any time and how long you decide to benefit from Chiropractic treatment is always up to you.
If your Chiropractor decides that your particular problem will benefit from Chiropractic then your treatment will commence on your initial consultation.
