The second visit is best scheduled within a few days of the initial consultation.
At this visit the response to the first treatment is assessed which helps in determining the appropriate care plan and gives a better indication of likely treatment time frames.
Further treatment is carried out with any necessary refinements made and any questions arising are discussed.
A more detailed explanation of the diagnosis is often provided at this stage as the response to treatment is a valuable diagnostic tool that is combined with the previous examination results to give a better understanding of the underlying causes of the problem.
Detailed exercise prescriptions are not utilised at this point as research shows that a better result is achieved if spinal function is improved before undertaking specific exercises. These are usually prescribed after four to six treatments.
